The Selection of Steel Pipe Heating Furnace Frequency
Steel pipe heating: Put the steel pipe into the inductors which is hollow copper pipe that will be input medium frequency or high frequency alternating current (300-300000Hz or higher). The induction current of same frequency will generate in the steel pipe.The induction current distribution in the steel pipe is not uniform: strong on the surface but weak in the internal even close to zero in the core. The steel pipe surface will be rapid heating through the skin effect. Steel pipe surface temperature will be up to 800-1000℃ within a few seconds but center temperature increased very little.
The Selection of Steel Pipe Heating Furnace Frequency
Select the frequency according to the process requirements of heat treatment and heating depth.
High frequency(10KHZ). The heating depth is 0.5-2.5mm which is used for middle and small parts heating such as Small module gear and small and medium shaft parts.
Medium frequency(1~10KHZ). The heating depth is 2-10mm which is used for large diameter shaft and large gear heating.
Power Frequency(50HZ). The heating depth is 10-20mm which is used for large parts diathermy and large diameter parts (OD is more than 300mm) such as roller surface quenching.
The depth of induction heating quenching surface depends on the heating thickness of steel pipe.Usually the heating thickness depends on AC frequency.The relation of frequency(f) and heating depth(δ) is as follows:
δ=20/√f(20°C);δ=500/√f(800°C)
