 What is steel pipe heat treatment?

Steel pipe heat treatment is the process of heat treatment for steel pipe, which includes many types.The heat treatment can be divided into the following kinds according to the heating temperature and cooling speed.

1.Annealing

Adjusting the hardness for cutting process.The suitable process hardness is 170-250 HB.

Eliminate or improve the uneven components or tissue defects in the process of casting, forging, welding and other processing for work piece to  improve the process performance .  Eliminate internal stress to prevent deformation in processing.

2.Normalizing:  increase hardness; improve machinability.

3.Quenching: Obtained martensite structure to make the steel has high hardness and high wear resistance.

4.Tempering: to improve the matrix organization, so that the matrix organization tends to be in steady state and  reduce the hardness of metal.
